Power Systems Inside Sales Estimator - Piscataway, NJ
About The Position
The Power Systems Inside Sales Estimator will be responsible for reviewing project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope, equipment requirements, and bid deadlines. This role involves obtaining vendor and subcontractor quotes, preparing accurate project cost estimates for equipment, labor, and services, and collaborating with the Sales team to develop pricing strategies and evaluate competitive factors. The estimator will also prepare, submit, and revise proposals, provide technical support including electrical sizing calculations and generator selection, and respond to customer inquiries. Additional duties may be assigned to help expand skills and contribute to evolving business needs.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and codes.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and customer service skills.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to changing business needs and learn new tools, systems, and processes.
- Detail-oriented and dependable, with sound judgment, basic computer skills, and a commitment to quality work.
- Familiarity with electrical load calculations, permitting requirements, and estimating software/tools.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a competitive estimating role may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope, equipment requirements, and bid deadlines.

- Collaborate with Sales to develop pricing strategies, evaluate competitive factors, and establish bid pricing.
- Prepare, submit, and revise proposals based on project scope and specification changes.
- Provide technical support, product information, and electrical sizing calculations, including generator selection.
- Respond to customer inquiries, provide proposal clarifications, and support additional business and team objectives as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to expand skills and contribute to evolving business needs.
