This role involves working safely by observing all related rules and procedures. Employees are expected to be in their work area by the start of their shift and after breaks. A key aspect of the job is to complete tasks at or above the standard rate in Plex to achieve department Contribution Goals. The technician will learn the capabilities of different machines and how to operate machinery, as well as learn our ERP system, Plex. Depending on the specific department, skills such as piercing, staking, roll threading, coining, bending, welding, and turning may be necessary. The role also includes checking parts in process as required and entering results into Plex check sheets. Suspect/defective parts and scrap found on the floor must be placed in red scrap containers, and the Plex check sheet escalation must be followed when suspect/defective parts are found during processing. Technicians will read and understand work instructions and gage instructions for jobs, tasks, quality checks, and operations being performed. They will use measurement tools such as gages, calipers, micrometers, length scales, dial indicators, and weight scales to measure and check parts. Maintaining a clean and organized work area using typical cleaning tools is also a responsibility.
