About The Position

The Power Platform Technical Lead leads enterprise clients through the design, development, integration, delivery, and operationalization of Microsoft Power Platform solutions. The role combines hands-on expertise in Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, Microsoft Purview, Azure services, and enterprise integration with workstream leadership, technical mentoring, and client-facing consulting. As part of Avanade's AI Workforce practice, the role helps clients modernize work through secure, scalable automation and application solutions on the Microsoft ecosystem. The lead owns technical delivery from discovery and solution design through development, testing, deployment, production readiness, support, and continuous improvement. The role translates complex business requirements into maintainable designs and delivery plans, leads multidisciplinary teams, and acts as a technical liaison among client stakeholders and delivery teams. It also contributes reusable engineering patterns, practice assets, demonstrations, and internal automation solutions. Success is measured through the quality, predictability, and production readiness of delivered solutions; client satisfaction and stakeholder confidence; team effectiveness and mentoring impact; effective management of delivery risks and dependencies; and contributions to reusable assets and best practices. Relevant Microsoft certifications, including PL-100 or successor Power Platform credentials and role-aligned Azure, data, security, or architecture certifications, are to be maintained or advanced.

Requirements

Strong hands-on foundation in Microsoft Power Platform solution design and development, including Power Apps canvas and model-driven applications, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, custom connectors, and Test Studio.
Experience with Microsoft and Azure integration technologies, including SharePoint, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Purview, Azure Data Explorer, Azure Key Vault, Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, and enterprise APIs.
Knowledge of data, analytics, and query technologies, including Kusto, DAX, OData, logging, dataset lineage, visualization, and operational dashboards.
Knowledge of application architecture, adaptive rendering, authentication, role-based access, monitoring, environment management, and production support.
Proven experience leading developers and quality engineers through complex application and automation delivery.
Experience with Agile delivery, backlog refinement, estimation, sprint execution, code reviews, test coordination, release planning, and dependency management.
Ability to independently own a workstream, identify issues early, propose solutions, and maintain delivery momentum.
Experience creating solution design documentation, deployment strategies, technical standards, presentations, and client demonstrations.
Skills in client workshop facilitation, requirements discovery, stakeholder management, and presentations.
Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear recommendations and business outcomes.
Strong written and verbal communication and a collaborative, service-oriented leadership style.
Demonstrated ability to mentor others, build trust, and create impact beyond an assigned project.
Experience moving solutions from discovery and proof of concept through implementation, deployment, support, and continuous improvement.
Ability to lead distributed teams, structure work, mentor practitioners, and step in to resolve difficult technical problems.
Ability to balance hands-on technical depth with workstream ownership, stakeholder engagement, and practice contribution.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end design and development of canvas and model-driven Power Apps, Power Automate solutions, Power BI reporting, Dataverse data models, custom connectors, and enterprise integrations.
Translate business requirements into solution designs, features, backlog items, acceptance criteria, estimates, and risk assessments.
Own technical delivery across development, testing, deployment, documentation, and production readiness, including adaptive rendering, dataset lineage, monitoring, logging, and analytics.
Apply engineering practices that improve solution quality, supportability, and reuse.
Lead multidisciplinary development teams, assign work, refine backlogs, remove blockers, and support team members through code and design reviews, guidance, and hands-on problem solving.
Mentor Power Platform developers and quality engineers and foster an inclusive, collaborative, and accountable delivery culture.
Serve as a subject matter expert across Power Platform, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Purview, Azure Log Analytics, SharePoint, and query technologies including Kusto, DAX, and OData.
Identify delivery risks early and present practical solution options to client and Avanade stakeholders.
Facilitate discovery sessions, requirements workshops, solution reviews, onsite workshops, demonstrations, and stakeholder presentations.
Act as the primary technical liaison among client product owners, business stakeholders, delivery leads, engineering, quality, security, data, and platform teams.
Communicate technical decisions, dependencies, risks, and progress to technical and non-technical audiences, and build trusted client relationships through reliable delivery and clear ownership.
Design integrations across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Azure Functions, Azure Key Vault, Azure SQL Database, Azure DevOps, and enterprise APIs.
Apply enterprise practices for Power Platform environments, security, data loss prevention, access, lifecycle management, and application lifecycle management.
Define deployment, monitoring, support, escalation, and handoff requirements for sustainable, production-ready solutions.
Create runbooks, solution documentation, dashboards, automation boards, and reusable delivery assets.
Contribute reusable solution patterns, sales content, demonstrations, proofs of concept, and technical assets for Avanade offerings and client pursuits.
Support internal automation and operational excellence by simplifying processes and building solutions for teams.
Share knowledge through onboarding, community participation, mentoring, and technical enablement, and apply relevant Microsoft and Azure innovations to client needs.
