About The Position

Today, the Royal College has over 55,000 members and the vision remains to advance the learning for specialist physicians to deliver the best health care for all. The Royal College partners and collaborates to lead the evolution of specialty medical education and standards; support specialist physicians, learners and teams to continuously improve; and advocate for excellence in specialty medicine by supporting innovation, well-being, equity and person-centered care. We are a national, nonprofit organization established in 1929 by a special Act of Parliament to oversee the medical education of specialists in Canada. Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure Operations, the Power Platform Administrator is responsible for governing, securing, and supporting the Royal College’s Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem — including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages, Dataverse, and emerging AI capabilities. You will ensure environments, data, and solutions follow organizational standards for architecture, security, and change management. As part of a mid-size ITS team, you will also collaborate across the Microsoft Cloud ecosystem — including M365, Azure, Entra ID, and Dynamics 365 — where Power Platform integrations, identity flows, and automation pathways intersect. You play a critical role in enabling safe, scalable, and innovative low‑code solutions across the organization while contributing to cross‑team initiatives and shared operational responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline — or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse).
  • Experience supporting or integrating with Microsoft 365, Azure, or Dynamics 365 platform components.
  • Familiarity with governance, identity, security, and data protection concepts (RBAC, Conditional Access, DLP).
  • Experience with ALM pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub)
  • Strong communication skills, problem‑solving ability, and a collaborative mindset suited to a flexible, multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Ability to occasionally work outside regular hours during scheduled changes or platform maintenance.
  • Ability to work outside business hours when required (e.g., planned changes or major releases).
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid/remote environment with some onsite collaboration.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks across multiple initiatives and contribute to team-wide operational goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as PL‑900, PL‑200, PL‑400, PL‑600, AZ‑104, MS‑102, or SC‑300 are considered valuable assets.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a governed Power Platform environment strategy (Dev/Test/Prod), including DLP policies, security roles, and connective boundaries.
  • Administer Dataverse and Power Platform solutions, overseeing lifecycle management, deployment pipelines, versioning, and performance monitoring.
  • Support integration and automation across Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, Azure, and on‑prem systems — including connectors, APIs, and service principals.
  • Evaluate and mitigate risks related to data movement, automation design, security baselines, and connector usage.
  • Provide Level 2 support for Power Platform issues, including troubleshooting failures, reviewing business-built apps and flows, and ensuring compliance with governance standards.
  • Deliver training, guidance, templates, and enablement to citizen developers and business stakeholders to foster safe innovation.
  • Collaborate with cloud and security teams during major releases, identity changes, access reviews, and incident response activities.
  • Contribute to documentation, operational playbooks, modernization initiatives, and the broader Cloud/M365 working group.
