About The Position

WECTEC Staffing Services, a subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, is seeking an experienced Power Plant Operator Technician to join the Operations & Maintenance team at a combined cycle power generation facility in San Diego, California. This full-time, onsite position involves overseeing the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of plant equipment, ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements. The role requires regular presence at the plant for operations support, maintenance activities, equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, and emergency response.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years of directly related power plant operations and maintenance experience.
Advanced experience in power plant operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, start, and shut down power generation equipment and auxiliary systems.
Monitor plant performance using control systems, computers, gauges, meters, and other operating equipment.
Record operational data, plant conditions, and equipment status in logs and reports.
Adjust operating parameters to maintain safe and efficient plant operations.
Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment.
Implement preventive, corrective, and overhaul maintenance activities.
Support system improvements and plant reliability projects.
Conduct chemical testing and maintain proper chemistry control of steam, cooling water, and condensate systems.
Maintain chemistry records and operational documentation.
Identify and recommend plant efficiency, reliability, and safety improvements.
Operate forklifts, manlifts, and other equipment.
Safely handle, transfer, and manage bulk chemicals.
Maintain plant security and comply with all company procedures.
