About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity with a rapidly growing pharmaceutical manufacturer. The role involves observing and operating all outside utilities distribution systems and auxiliary equipment to provide adequate services to all sections of the site. The position is responsible for the operation and monitoring of turbo-generators and their associated auxiliary equipment, including turbine room switchgear. Additionally, the role involves operating all water conditioning equipment, including reverse osmosis units, deionizers, polishers, filters, U.V. systems, ozone systems, and site process cooling water systems. This position requires testing, treatment, and adjustments to heaters, boilers, cooling towers, Deionized (DI) water, and Reverse Osmosis (RO) water for proper chemistry. The role also includes observing and operating steam boilers, steam turbines, and their auxiliaries under the supervision of the Watch Engineer. A thorough knowledge of boilers, piping, and auxiliaries, along with practical knowledge of control instruments, is essential. The position operates under the supervision of the Watch Engineer and involves exchanging operating information between shifts and training assigned personnel.

Requirements

  • NJ Blue Seal (1-C) 3rd Class Engineer License or Higher
  • High School Diploma /GED
  • New Jersey Blue Seal 3rd Class Engineers (1-C) license.
  • Previous powerplant operating experience.
  • Ability, fitness, and skill.

Responsibilities

  • Observes and operates all outside utilities distribution systems, and auxiliary equipment in order to provide adequate services to all sections of the site.
  • Responsible for the operation and monitoring of the turbo-generators, auxiliary equipment associated with same, including turbine room switchgear.
  • Operates all water conditioning equipment associated with the power plant including reverse osmosis units, deionizers, polishers, filters, U.V. system, ozone systems and site process cooling water systems.
  • Performs testing, treatment, and adjustments to the heater, boilers, cooling towers, Deionized (DI) water, Reverse Osmosis (RO) water for proper chemistry.
  • Observes and operates 900#, 135# steam boilers, steam turbines and their auxiliaries.
  • Exchanges operating information from previous shift and relays it on to relieving shift.
  • Trains persons assigned to them for qualifications or advancement to a higher classification.
  • Practices proper Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and documentation requirements.
