About The Position

This role focuses on repairing generator and industrial engines, such as irrigation engines and grinders, as well as servicing electrical power systems to meet customer expectations in both shop and field environments. The position requires an experienced mechanic capable of removing, installing, repairing, disassembling, and assembling components, as well as performing failure analysis on CAT and non-CAT equipment, including engines and electrical systems.

Requirements

Experienced mechanic capable of removing, installing, repairing, disassembling, and assembling components.
Ability to perform failure analysis on CAT and non-CAT equipment, including engines and electrical systems.
Strong AC/DC power skills.
Schematic interpretation skills.
Ability to complete detailed service reports, time entries, and all required documentation daily via laptop submission.

Experience with generators, UPS systems, switchgear, automatic transfer switches.
Experience with start-up installations and coordination of multiple generator sets and paralleling switchgear.

Experience with repair of motors, relays, contacts, generator components, and controls.
Experience performing minor and major engine overhauls in the field.

Responsibilities

Provide customer support for on-site power generation facilities through technical evaluations, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
Install, service, and repair generators, UPS systems, switchgear, automatic transfer switches, and related system components, including start-up installations and coordination of multiple generator sets and paralleling switchgear to ensure proper system integration.
Conduct machine performance and diagnostic tests, interpret results, and make independent decisions regarding the extent of repairs.
Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs, including mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of engines, generators, controls, switchgear, emissions systems, and auxiliary equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems such as fuel delivery, ignition, lubrication, cooling, exhaust, turbocharging, and internal engine components.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems requiring strong AC/DC power skills, schematic interpretation, and repair of motors, relays, contacts, generator components, and controls.
Perform minor and major engine overhauls in the field.
Work in the shop, field, or at customer locations, including overtime and overnight assignments as needed.
Ensure repairs are accurate, timely, and meet quality standards.
Address warranty and service letter issues promptly and efficiently.
Utilize web-based tools (STW, SIS, ET) to resolve technical issues and follow all procedural guidelines.
Order necessary parts, evaluate reusability, and determine failure causes.
Complete detailed service reports, time entries, and all required documentation daily via laptop submission.
