About The Position

Under limited guidance, this position is responsible for preparing estimates, refining scope, preparing bid documents, and ordering materials and services for all work at FPL’s Fossil Generation sites. The role involves planning and developing projects with a high level of efficiency by utilizing appropriate technology. The planner acts as a liaison to individuals within and outside their organization and has the responsibility to act independently regarding matters pertaining to their field of expertise. They will also act in a lead role for Planning on overhaul work, coordinating all mechanical, civil, electrical, and I&C work. This includes performing jobsite walk-downs, scope validation, supporting procurement of materials and services, and establishing accurate work order cost and schedule estimates in accordance with the Major Maintenance Process. The role requires technical procedure writing proficiency and a good working understanding of Maximo, Digital Worker, and Power BI applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field and/or 5 years relevant power plant experience
  • 2 Years in a Planning role
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt

Responsibilities

  • Acting as a planning liaison to individuals within and outside their organization.
  • Acting in a lead role for Planning on overhaul work with responsibility for coordinating all mechanical, civil, electrical and I&C work.
  • Performing jobsite walk-downs and scope validation.
  • Supporting procurement of materials and services.
  • Establishing accurate work order cost and schedule estimates in accordance with the Major Maintenance Process.
  • Acting in a lead role in the Planning Effort for Outage work to be performed.
  • Technical Procedure writing.
  • Performing administration of procurement contracts and documentation in support of outage execution.
  • Focusing on streamlining activities through the use of standardized processes and procedures, problem solving, and team engagement.
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
