As a Power Equipment Operator, you are part of the behind-the-scenes team that keeps merchandise moving through Macy’s furniture, bedding, and fulfillment warehouses. You operate powered industrial trucks and other equipment to move merchandise safely and efficiently throughout the building, supporting the timely fulfillment of customer needs. The role involves working in narrow aisles and at heights of up to 40 feet, using equipment such as stock pickers and reach trucks to pick, pull, put away, stack, and count merchandise. You also enter information using computers, handheld devices, radio-frequency equipment, and warehouse or proprietary systems. The position requires safe equipment operation, reporting safety or equipment issues, teamwork, dependable attendance, and a focus on customer service and workplace hospitality. This is a part-time role. Part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12–24 hours per week, depending on business needs and availability. The role may involve days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Colleagues may be cross-trained in other facility areas. Supply chain colleagues at applicable facilities are subject to random drug testing. The job requires lifting and moving items weighing up to 75 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods, and frequent physical activity including reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Employees must be able to use, hear, and see safety and emergency alarms and power industrial truck warning devices.
