The Power Electronics Design and Release Engineer (DRE) is responsible for the design, development, validation, and release of Power Electronics Components (PECs) — including converters, inverters, and AC/DC charging systems — for electrified vehicle applications. The role supports component execution from concept through production, ensuring technical performance, quality, cost, and timing objectives are met. This highly motivated, self‑starting DRE will be responsible for collaborating with technical subject matter experts to develop cost‑effective, reliable Product Engineering Components (PECs) using advanced technologies, simulation tools, and test and evaluation equipment. The role involves defining and developing Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&R) and executing all required development and verification testing to ensure functional objectives are met and program goals are achieved. The DRE will support the creation of component specifications derived from vehicle, system, and software requirements, including durability, warranty, safety, and performance requirements at the component level. Additionally, the role requires working closely with suppliers and manufacturing organizations to ensure designs meet Stellantis’ requirements, perform the intended function, and are robust and manufacturable without defects. The DRE will participate in supplier technical assessments, post‑test inspection reviews, perform detailed failure analysis, and recommend changes to product specifications as needed. The role also involves tracking and managing the progress of component development, verification, and production activities, both internally and externally, and supporting issue identification, resolution, and tracking at technical, program, production, and financial levels. Finally, the DRE will assist in reporting and communicating component development progress and status at various team and program review meetings.
