About The Position

The Power Electronics Controls Engineer at Dynapower is responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems.

Requirements

  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience

  • Eligibility to obtain authorization under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Non-US Persons, as defined in the ITAR and EAR, may not be eligible to obtain authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience writing low-level control loops that are implemented in microcontrollers, microprocessors, and/or DSPs.
  • Knowledge of grid following, grid forming, and droop control algorithms to enable interconnection of Power Electronic Converters with utility grids
  • Background of utilizing HIL platforms to validate equipment control algorithms.
  • Experience with embedded system design and implementation of controller communication APIs
  • Knowledge of industry regulations such as UL1998, IEEE1547, and UL1741.
  • Hands on experience designing and testing high power systems to be used in commercial production.
  • Understanding of communication protocols such as Modbus, CANbus, OPC-UA, and/or Ethernet TCP/IP

Responsibilities

  • Key participant in creating designs within inter-disciplinary teams to address complex product design and manufacturing challenges
  • Collaborates on feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs
  • Organizes development testing, engineering analysis, qualification testing, production launch
  • Key participant in failure analysis investigations and engineering evaluations
  • Maintains product documentation (drawings and specifications) and lessons including; producing design reports, test reports, operating manuals and test procedures
  • Collaborates with senior engineers/managers to engage with customers in soliciting product specifications requirements, schedule expectations and budget
