About The Position

Dow has an exciting job opportunity for a Power Distribution Electrician in Seadrift, Texas. Power Distribution Electricians are responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining industrial electrical equipment (up to 69KV) and control systems in a safe manner.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED and one or more of the following: Associate’s degree or higher in electrical technology.
  • 3 or more years of relevant Military Training.
  • 2 or more years of industrial manufacturing and electrical experience.
  • A current, valid US driver’s license.
  • Willing and able to work on a 4-10 schedule (4 days per week at 10 hours per day) with occasional overtime as dictated by business needs.
  • Participate in an after-hour call rotation for night and weekend coverage.
  • You must possess a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Ability to quickly identify, analyze, and resolve electrical and control system issues using technical knowledge and logical thinking.
  • Time Management: Skilled at prioritizing tasks and managing schedules to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Teamwork: Works effectively with colleagues and other departments, fostering collaboration and supporting shared objectives.
  • Detail Oriented: Maintains accuracy and precision when installing, testing, and maintaining electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with standards and safety protocols.
  • Risk Awareness: Understands and applies safety procedures when working with high-voltage systems and hazardous materials; proactively identifies and mitigates risks.
  • Communication (Written & Verbal): Clearly conveys technical information, updates, and documentation to team members and supervisors in both written and verbal formats.

Responsibilities

  • Installing, Commissioning, connecting, maintaining, Testing, and troubleshooting: Low, medium, and high voltage motor control systems
  • Installing, Commissioning, connecting, maintaining, Testing, and troubleshooting: Low, medium, and high voltage Switchgear, transformers, substations, Breakers, oil/gas high voltage circuit breakers, air switches
  • Installing, Commissioning, connecting, maintaining, Testing, and troubleshooting: Low, medium, and High voltage power cable, electric motors, and generators
  • Installing, Commissioning, connecting, maintaining, Testing, and troubleshooting: Protective devices and relays
  • Installing, Commissioning, connecting, maintaining, Testing, and troubleshooting: DC battery charger stations, inverters, and UPS systems.
  • Installing, Commissioning, connecting, maintaining, Testing, and troubleshooting: Motor drives systems (synch. /induction/DC/VFD)
  • Use procedures - this includes field use, review, revise, and development of procedures.
  • Ability to utilize functional, technical knowledge, company standards and educational background or experience to analyze and solve problems
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • Working Knowledge of Electrical test equipment.
