Power BI Reporting Engineer (Korean Bilingual)
About The Position
The Power BI Reporting Engineer designs, develops, maintains, and optimizes enterprise business intelligence and reporting solutions using Microsoft Power BI. The role turns business requirements into interactive dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions that support strategic and operational decision-making across MPA and affiliated organizations. The engineer collaborates with business users, data engineers, database administrators, and IT teams to ensure reporting solutions are accurate, scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives. The role covers report and dashboard development, data modeling and analytics, business requirements gathering and user support, reporting governance, and monitoring and operational support. It also includes platform administration as a listed area, though no specific administration duties are provided.
Requirements
- Korean bilingual proficiency is required.
- DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
- Power Query (M Language).
- Data modeling and semantic models.
- Star schema and dimensional modeling.
- KPI design and analytics.
- Experience or skills with Azure SQL Database, MS Access, SQL Server, AS/400 DB2, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, and Excel and CSV data sources.
- SQL, T-SQL, DAX, and Power Query (M).
- Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), On-Premises Data Gateway, and Azure Active Directory (Entra ID).
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of Business Intelligence or Reporting experience.
- 3+ years of Power BI development experience.
- Strong experience with DAX and data modeling.
- Experience building executive and operational dashboards.
- Experience working with Azure-based data platforms.
- Experience migrating reports from legacy reporting tools to Power BI.
- Experience supporting enterprise data warehouse (EDW) environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Create interactive visualizations, scorecards, and executive dashboards.
- Develop reusable report templates and visualization standards.
- Optimize report performance and user experience.
- Support enterprise reporting initiatives across departments.
- Design and maintain Power BI semantic models.
- Develop star schema and dimensional models for reporting.
- Create DAX measures, calculations, KPIs, and business logic.
- Implement row-level security (RLS) and data access controls.
- Support self-service BI and governed analytics solutions.
- Gather and analyze reporting requirements from business stakeholders.
- Convert business processes and KPIs into reporting solutions.
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Provide end-user training and documentation.
- Serve as a liaison between business teams and technical teams.
- Establish reporting standards and dashboard design guidelines.
- Ensure consistency of KPIs and business definitions.
- Maintain metadata and report inventory documentation.
- Support enterprise data governance initiatives.
- Reduce duplication of reports and datasets.
- Monitor report usage, adoption, and performance.
- Troubleshoot report failures and refresh issues.
- Resolve production incidents and root causes.
- Support business users and executive stakeholders.
- Maintain SLA and operational support standards.
- Complete tasks assigned by management.
