Power BI Developer
About The Position
We are seeking a Power BI Developer with 4+ years of experience delivering enterprise reporting, analytics, and data intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI, SQL, data modeling, dashboard development, and report automation. Experience with Databricks and Power BI administration is highly preferred. Python experience for AI, analytics and automation is considered a strong asset. Decision Making and Supervision Work under minimal supervision. Make decisions and recommendations requiring analysis and interpretation within established procedures. Working Conditions Generally comfortable working conditions with lifting and onsite installations. Moderate visual concentration in use of video display terminal. The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP).
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development, SQL, and data visualization best practices
- Strong experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and databases
- Experience translating business requirements into technical reporting solutions
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
- Must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP)
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Databricks and Power BI administration
- Python experience for AI, analytics and automation
- Power BI administration experience including workspace, gateway, and security management
- Experience with Databricks and Azure-based data platforms
- Experience with Python for data analysis, automation, or scripting
- Understanding Lakehouse architecture, data warehousing concepts, and enterprise reporting architecture
- Experience working in Agile project environments
- Familiarity with data governance, security, and metadata management.
- Exposure to CI/CD for data pipelines using Git or DevOps tools.
- GenAI Agents and/or ML experience
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards
- Develop complex SQL queries and data models for reporting and analytics
- Support integration of data from multiple enterprise systems and cloud platforms
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and Product Owner to gather and translate reporting needs into technical specifications
- Support data validation, troubleshooting, and report performance optimization
- Create and maintain technical documentation and user guides
- Assist with Power BI administration, workspace management, and access controls
- Support AI-driven data intelligence, reporting, and analytics initiatives to enhance business insights and decision-making
