We are currently seeking a Power BI - Data Engineering Lead to join our team on-site in either Westlake, TX or Raleigh, NC.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on enterprise analytics.
  • 5+ years of experience in Power BI, including framework development, capacity management, advisory on best practices (i.e. DAX vs. PowerQuery, Import vs. Direct Query) and enterprise enablement. This includes both administration of the platform and development within PowerBI, supporting RBAC/RLS for access controls, governance best practices and optimization techniques for poor performing reports.
  • 5+ years of scripting skills in Python and PowerShell.
  • 2+ years experience with Snowflake as a primary cloud analytics platform.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Power BI tenant architecture and Microsoft Fabric capacities at scale, including strategic planning and implementation.
  • Proven ability to lead and guide cross-functional teams in enterprise-level BI initiatives, with strong examples of collaboration and influence.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise security frameworks, including role-based access control, data governance, and compliance protocols.
  • Strategic foresight to architect solutions that are platform-agnostic, scalable, and adaptable to future technology shifts.
  • Experience working in large-scale environments, with the ability to translate complex business needs into technical solutions that support long-term growth.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and capacity planning.
  • Proficiency in managing secure data environments and encrypted data flows.
  • Strong understanding of hybrid on-prem/cloud architectures.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

  • Support and manage Power BI at the enterprise level, enabling analytics across 20+ business units.
  • Act as a first responder for Power BI dashboard issues and framework-level escalations.
  • Maintain and enhance 10–15 enterprise-wide Power BI frameworks for automation in instance deployment, version upgrades and analytic/viz framework design.
  • Perform proof-of-concepts (POCs) and adapt to evolving BI tools.
  • Collaborate with business units to ensure visualization standards and performance optimization.
  • Manage and automate Power BI Gateway deployments across 200+ VMs.
  • Support migration to Microsoft Fabric capacity and manage premium capacity environments.
  • Ensure secure handling of highly confidential data with full encryption protocols.
  • Troubleshoot Snowflake connectivity and optimize queries for performance.
  • Build and maintain robust batch and streaming data pipelines using Python and PowerShell.
