About The Position

Triple Cities Metal Finishing is seeking a Production Racker for their 1st shift. This role is essential for maintaining quality, safety, and productivity. The primary responsibilities include reading work orders to rack and unrack parts before and after finishing processes like anodizing or painting, and packaging parts for shipment. This position offers direct interaction with skilled Painters & Powder coaters and provides a clear path for career advancement and professional growth. Triple Cities Metal Finishing offers a wide range of surface finishing options to various industries and is ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D & NADCAP Certified. They have been in business since 1945 and operate from a 125,000 square foot facility, serving as a preferred vendor for metal finishing in the Northeastern United States.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred.
  • Keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Clear communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with production teams.
  • Ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to use specialized testing tools and machinery.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to bend, push, pull, reach and twist for 8-10 hours a day.
  • Ensure all products and parts meet stringent quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Reading work orders to determine how to place or hang metal parts on racks or hooks for finishing processes (plating, anodizing, powder coat, wet paint).
  • Racking items strategically to maximize coating coverage and minimize waste.
  • Distributing items evenly on the rack for stability during transport and coating.
  • Unracking parts after processing.
  • Keeping up in a fast-paced environment to ensure painters & powder coaters have parts ready continuously.
  • Prioritizing items based on production schedules and deadlines.
  • Filling racks efficiently without compromising coating quality.
  • Inspecting parts before and after the finishing process to ensure quality standards and reporting defects.
  • Packaging completed parts according to customer specifications, prints, and guidelines.
  • Utilizing computer system to track job progress and scan jobs.
  • Coordinating with painters, anodize operators, or other production team members for a smooth workflow.
  • Providing feedback on racking challenges or improvements.
  • Wearing appropriate PPE (gloves, safety glasses) to protect against chemicals and sharp edges.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment, especially when handling chemicals or using cutting tools.
