2nd Shift Powder Coating Associate; Pay starting at $21.24/hour
About The Position
This role is for a Powder Coating Associate on the 2nd shift, working from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. The position starts with a base pay of $19.24/hour plus a $2 shift differential, totaling $21.24/hour. The company is a large, global organization with over 54,000 employees in 60 countries, working with well-known brands like DEWALT, CRAFTSMAN, STANLEY, and BLACK+DECKER. The associate will be part of the production team in Hesston, KS, and will be responsible for applying powder coatings to parts, operating and maintaining related equipment, inspecting parts for quality, and preparing parts for coating.
Requirements
- Ability to comply with safety standards (full body Tivex suits, air purifying respirator).
- Technical ability to escalate issues when identified.
- Able to follow standard work as trained by a supervisor or OpEx lead.
Nice To Haves
- High School /GED diploma preferred (required to maintain the pre-treatment system only).
Responsibilities
- Operate manual electrostatic guns to apply powder to parts.
- Operate, monitor and maintain equipment (automatic guns, powder pick up and reclaim system, paint line conveyor system, infrared and conventional cure ovens, and pre-treatment system).
- Inspect parts for compliance to quality standards and apply liquid touch up as necessary.
- Apply and remove plugs/caps to protect unpainted areas and blow off water from pre-treatment system.
- Prepare parts for powder recoat by sanding down surfaces.
