About The Position

The Fabrication Technician, Powder Coat role is responsible for loading and unloading materials on the powder coat line, operating the powder coat booth, and applying powder to parts per customer specifications. This role ensures finished products meet quality and production standards through inspection, accurate setup, and consistent process execution. Support a safe, engaged, and inclusive workplace by following all safety policies, properly using personal protective equipment, operating equipment correctly, and performing 5S duties

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution

  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as business needs require.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, persuasive abilities, and analytical problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands for handling and feeling.
  • Frequently required to stoop, lift, carry, push, and pull.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and push/pull 50 lbs. or more with or without accommodation
  • Vision requirements include near and far vision, depth perception, and color discrimination.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience reading blueprints, manufacturing diagrams or drawings, or operating instructions
  • Experience using measuring devices such as tape measures and calipers
  • Experience with Eaton systems, including DMM and AS400

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, set up, and operate the powder coat line using travel documents, blueprints, and verbal or written instructions
  • Maintain expected workflow and production progress within the assigned area and communicate issues as needed
  • Perform quality checks including visual inspections, measuring parts with tape measures and/or calipers, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and complete root cause analysis related to quality or production issues
  • Cross-train and provide coverage for other job functions when required
