About The Position

This position is a conversion from temporary to hire. The Powder Coat Tech I is responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations. This role requires understanding the equipment, standards, and general manufacturing practices within the Generator enclosure and power switchgear product areas. The technician must be able to identify and follow proper procedures for all non-conforming material, assist in tracking and recording material discrepancies, and communicate and cooperate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality departments to ensure quality compliance and continual product improvement.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED preferred. Technical School or Associates Degree in Coatings technology high desired. However, a combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, work instructions, UL Standard, written directions.
  • Ability to use the computer and enter information in database.
  • Knowledge of measurement tools, tape measures.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and communicate in English.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have constant control over Powder Coat environment.
  • Must be able to lift 60lbs and manipulate heavy finished panels.
  • Manual dexterity to operate digital equipment, including computers, HMIs, and other such equipment with small fine buttons and operators.

  • Technical School or Associates Degree in Coatings technology high desired.

  • Is knowledgeable about all required department procedures.
