About The Position

A Powder Coat Supervisor is a leadership role overseeing the powder coating process within a manufacturing environment. This position requires strong technical knowledge of powder coating techniques, equipment, and materials, as well as effective leadership and organizational skills to ensure the efficient and high-quality operation of the powder coating department. This position pays $20.00 to $23.00 an hour.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within a powder coating environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of powder coating techniques, equipment, and materials.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to powder coating processes.

  • Additional vocational training or certification in powder coating processes or supervisory skills is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of powder coating technicians, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Schedule and coordinate work assignments to optimize workflow and meet production targets.
  • Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure powder-coated products meet or exceed established standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of finished items, addressing any deviations or defects promptly.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve powder coating processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and achieve cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices and stay updated on industry advancements.
  • Oversee the maintenance and calibration of powder coating equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff to address any equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Manage the mixing and matching of powder coating colors to meet customer or product specifications.
  • Conduct color tests and adjustments to ensure accurate color matching.
  • Monitor the curing process to ensure that powder-coated components achieve the desired level of durability.
  • Adjust curing parameters as needed to optimize the finish.
  • Monitor powder coating inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure an adequate supply.
  • Keep accurate records of powder usage and reorder supplies as necessary.
  • Maintain detailed records of powder coating processes, including color formulas, application settings, and curing times.
  • Generate reports on production metrics, quality control results, and any incidents or deviations.
  • Enforce safety protocols and guidelines for the handling of powder coating materials and operation of equipment.
  • Conduct regular safety training sessions for the powder coating team.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments, providing updates on production status and addressing any issues that may impact timelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure powder coating processes align with product specifications.
