About The Position
This position involves operating overhead or mobile cranes, working in various climate conditions, and driving company trucks to back trailers into designated areas. The role requires collaboration with other drivers and management to coordinate the daily processing schedule, and includes tasks such as removing rods and panels from incoming loads, washing trailers, and sanitizing trailer beds. The job also involves assisting crane operators and performing additional duties as assigned to support operational efficiency. Attendance and work actions are considered important factors for this role.
Requirements
- Successful completion of 4 required training modules: Basic Controls, Coupling & Uncoupling, Backing & Docking, Walk-Around Inspection
- Achieve a minimum passing score of 95% on training modules
- Completion of hands-on equipment training with authorized trainer
- Successful completion of a behavioral driving assessment after training
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer
- Applicants must not now, or at any time in the future, require employer sponsorship for a work visa.
Nice To Haves
- Experience operating shag trucks, yard trucks, or similar equipment.
- Strong understanding of safety, sanitation, and load-handling procedures
Responsibilities
- Operate overhead or mobile cranes safely and efficiently to unload materials prior to the start of each shift
- Work in various climate conditions (cold, heat, wind, rain, etc.)
- Lift up to 50 lbs. and use a dolly to raise and lower trailers as required
- Collaborate with other drivers and management to coordinate the daily processing schedule
- Remove rods, panels, and other materials from incoming loads
- Wash trailers and sanitize empty trailer beds following company safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist crane operators throughout the shift with loading, unloading, and positioning materials
- Drive company trucks and safely back trailers into designated areas
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational efficiency
- Work actions and attendance to be weighed factors in this process
- Work independently and with others
- Good attendance
