About The Position

MDE is growing and is looking for talented, educated, and caring postpartum doulas to join their perinatal support team. MDE provides in-home postpartum doula support sessions to assist new parents in caring for their newborns. Postpartum doulas support families with emotional and physical needs, newborn education, and lactation/feeding support. The role requires a flexible schedule and the ability to provide support on an ad-hoc basis.

Requirements

Authorization to work in the US.
A minimum of 3 years' experience as a postpartum doula.
Completion of a postpartum doula training.
A strong understanding of the postpartum period and postpartum healing.
Foundational breastfeeding education with experience supporting new moms in breastfeeding.
Exceptional references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, maturity, and high emotional intelligence.
Readiness to help with light housekeeping and all tasks related to the newborn baby.
Openness to working in a household team.
A professional appearance.
Fluency in written English.

Nice To Haves

A postpartum doula and/or lactation certification is preferred but not required.
Flexible schedule.
Available for daytime sessions and/or overnight sessions.

Responsibilities

Provide in-home postpartum doula support sessions.
Support new parents with emotional and physical needs.
Provide postpartum and/or newborn education.
Offer lactation/feeding support.
Assist with light housekeeping and tasks related to the newborn baby, including meal prep, baby laundry, cleaning/sanitizing bottles, and home organization.
Be available for daytime and/or overnight support sessions.
Work collaboratively in a household team environment, potentially alongside a nanny.
