About The Position

Bcore is seeking a PostgreSQL Database Architect to support the NGA customer mission. This role involves architecting critical IT solutions, producing actionable intelligence, and developing cutting-edge technology within the Mission Services division, which combines enterprise IT, cloud solutions, DevSecOps, systems engineering, software development, and operational support. Requirements

  • Active TS clearance (with SCI Eligibility) and eligibility to obtain CI Poly
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent recommended
  • Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
  • 5 + years of related database analysis and/or administration experience
  • PostgreSQL experience required.
  • Experience in PostgreSQL administration/tuning; including knowledge and implementation of database high-availability solutions and performance tuning
  • Experience in monitoring, creating, and managing PostgreSQL server agent alerts
  • Experience with Database backup, restore, migration, and Database snapshot technologies/strategies
  • Knowledge on how to build/maintain efficient database table structures for both transactional and warehouse data
  • Migration experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle and MySQL

Nice To Haves

  • Oracle database administration a plus.
  • Intelligence Community Experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
  • Provides advice on performance tuning and training to end-users.
  • Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of servers running on one or more operating systems.
  • Maintains database integrity and security, configures role-based access control (RBAC), and sets up administrative accounts.
  • Sets up administrator and service accounts.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, standards, and procedures.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Evaluates open-source or vendor tools and participates in database migration/special modernization projects.
  • Collaborate with developers on schema design, query optimization, and stored procedures.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades, patching, and migrations.
