About The Position

D2 has an immediate need for a PostgreSQL Database Architect to analyze, design, develop, implement, and support database infrastructure deployment and management. This role involves managing the functionality and efficiency of a group of servers, maintaining database integrity and security, configuring role-based access control (RBAC), and setting up administrative accounts. The architect will also maintain documentation, interact with users, evaluate vendor products, develop and monitor policies for resource allocation, and implement testing strategies. Additionally, they will provide advice on performance tuning and training, stay current with relevant technologies, evaluate tools, and participate in database migration and modernization projects. Collaboration with developers on schema design, query optimization, and stored procedures, as well as planning and executing database upgrades, patching, and migrations, are key responsibilities. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements is also essential.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
• 5+ years of related database analysis and/or administration experience
• PostgreSQL experience required.
• Experience in PostgreSQL administration/tuning; including knowledge and implementation of database high-availability solutions and performance tuning
• Experience in monitoring, creating, and managing PostgreSQL server agent alerts
• Experience with database backup, restore, migration, and database snapshot technologies/strategies
• Knowledge on how to build/maintain efficient database table structures for both transactional and warehouse data
• Migration experience with Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
• ACTIVE TS/SCI SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED

Nice To Haves

• Oracle database administration is a plus
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent
