About The Position
Deliver insights to help our clients turn data into action as a PostgreSQL Database Analyst at GDIT. As a Database Analyst you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on TS/SCI cleared Database Analyst joining our team to support our intelligence customer in Springfield, VA or Arnold, MO. GDIT has an immediate need for a PostgreSQL database analyst to analyze, design, develop, implement, and support database infrastructure deployment and management. The individual will work under limited supervision and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
- 5 + years of related database analysis and/or administration experience.
- PostgreSQL experience required.
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent recommended.
- Experience in PostgreSQL administration/tuning; including knowledge and implementation of database high-availability solutions
- Experience in monitoring, creating, and managing PostgreSQL server agent alerts
- Experience with Database backup, restore, migration, and Database snapshot technologies/strategies
- Knowledge on how to build/maintain efficient database table structures for both transactional and warehouse data
- Knowledge of Oracle 19c administration and performance tuning
- Migration experience with Oracle, MySQL, and PostgresSQL
- Candidates must hold a TS/SCI

- Oracle database administration a plus.
Responsibilities
- Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of servers running on one or more operating systems.
- Maintains database integrity and security, configures role-based access control (RBAC), and sets up administrative accounts.
- Sets up administrator and service accounts.
- Maintain documentation for configurations, standards, and procedures
- Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
- Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
- Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
- Provides advice on performance tuning and training to end-users.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
- Evaluates open-source or vendor tools and participates in database migration/special modernization projects.
- Collaborate with developers on schema design, query optimization, and stored procedures
- Plan and execute database upgrades, patching, and migrations
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours support
