A postdoctoral scientist position is immediately available in the Department of Neurobiology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland. This new 5-year NIH supported position (PIs, Drs Fuwen Zhou and Adam Puche) will conduct experiments spanning from the genome to cells, to circuits, and to behavior, to uncover the cellular and molecular mechanisms of olfactory dysfunction associated with aging and Alzheimer’s disease, using electrophysiological (including in vivo and in vitro), optogenetic, chemogenetic, fiber photometry, multiphoton imaging, immunohistochemical, molecular biological (e.g., single cell PCR), pharmacological and genetic manipulation (knockdown and overexpression), stereotaxic and behavioral techniques. The fellow will have an important role in the design and execution of projects, as well as presenting and publishing their results.
