About The Position

The Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology seeks a Postdoctoral Scholar to investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neurological disorders, with a particular focus on ion channel signaling, and neurodegenerative disease-related pathways in the laboratory. This is a grant-funded position funded until September 16, 2028.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in the field of Neuroscience or similar field.
  • Prior research experience in basic science, clinical research, or biomedical engineering is preferred.
  • Skill in patch-clamp, gene cloning, proteomics, confocal imaging, brain surgery, brain Ca2+ imaging in vivo, behavioral testing, brain histology, and computational/statistical analyses.
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Performs mouse brain surgery, in vivo Ca2+ imaging of the mouse brain.
  • Performs behavioral testing using mice.
  • Analyses data using statistical tools.
  • Creates imaging using confocal microscopes.
  • Performs gene cloning, cell culture, proteomics.
  • Performs RNA sequencing, flow cytometry.
  • Performs western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunocytochemistry.
  • Assist with writing manuscripts.
