The Freeman Lab is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Scientist to work on human Alzheimers research projects that examine neuroinflammatory mechanisms of Alzheimers Disease pathology. These projects will involve coordination with clinical collaborators for clinical information and sample collection. These projects also involve extensive flow cytometry and molecular biology analysis to characterize, track, and sort cell types and phenotypes. These projects also integrate biochemical assessments, state-of-the-art sequencing, and bioinformatics. The lab environment is highly supportive of learning new techniques for molecular biology, neuroimmunology, proteomics, epigenetics, and bioinformatics. The ideal candidate will have experience in clinical research and be an innovative, collaborative, and highly motivated individual who can work independently but also with other investigators of varied training experience. The environment within OMRF/OKC VAMC/OUHSC is rich with opportunities for students and postdocs. Aging research (Geroscience) is a cross-institution thematic priority and the program has grown dramatically in recent years through the addition of new faculty, the Oklahoma Nathan Shock Center of Excellence in the Basic Biology of Aging and the Geroscience Training Program (T32).
