About The Position

Postdoctoral Scholarships are available in our lab with a focus on defining T cell-intrinsic mechanisms of cancer immunotherapy and radiotherapy. Specifically, we want to identify new targets for cancer interventions that can be leveraged to overcome immunotherapy resistance and prolong therapeutic effects of radiotherapy. Another research area in our lab is T cell immuno-metabolism. Our experimental models include genetically modified mice and disease models for various types of cancer, autoimmune diseases, infections, and inflammation. Our lab has been funded by NIH (R01, R21), DoD (Idea Award), Cancer Research Institute, V Foundation, Varian Medical System, and UAB O’Neal Invests pre-R01 grants.

Requirements

  • Highly motivated recent Ph.D. and/or M.D.
  • Strong molecular biology and/or immunology skills.

Responsibilities

  • Defining T cell-intrinsic mechanisms of cancer immunotherapy and radiotherapy.
  • Identifying new targets for cancer interventions to overcome immunotherapy resistance.
  • Investigating therapeutic effects of radiotherapy.
  • Researching T cell immuno-metabolism.
