About The Position

The scholar will develop and validate an early post-traumatic osteoarthritis detection platform integrating infrapatellar fat pad ultrasound, wearable per-stride loading analytics, and circulating biomarkers. The position includes structured mentorship toward research independence, including weekly mentor meetings, an Individual Development Plan developed with the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, and mentored grant writing.

Requirements

• PhD in kinesiology, biomechanics, exercise science, biomedical engineering, epidemiology, or a related field by the start date.
• Demonstrated quantitative data analysis experience
• Peer-reviewed publication record appropriate to career stage.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in musculoskeletal ultrasound
• Wearable and accelerometry-derived loading or physical activity analytics
• Gait biomechanics
• Circulating biomarker analysis
• Programming proficiency in R, Python, or MATLAB
• Experience with longitudinal or multi-site clinical datasets
• Familiarity with osteoarthritis, ACL injury, or post-surgical recovery research
• Interest in pursuing federal career development funding
• Strong written communication
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across disciplines and institutions
