About The Position

The Department of Mathematics at Michigan State University invites applications for Postdoctoral Scholars with a starting date of Fall 2027. Postdoctoral scholar positions fall into two categories: Departmental Postdocs or Grant-funded Postdocs. Departmental Postdocs comprise the department Postdoctoral Fellows program. Postdoctoral Fellows contribute to the research and instructional mission of our unit. These are academic year appointed positions. Grant-funded Postdocs support the research activities of currently funded external research grants, as outlined in the grants statement of work and budget. These positions are either academic or annual year appointments. All positions are benefits eligible and potentially renewable on an annual basis through Spring 2030, contingent upon satisfactory performance and availability of funding. Candidates will be evaluated on their potential in research and teaching. Applications from all areas of mathematical research will be considered. Postdoctoral scholars will be paired with faculty mentors with whom they have compatible research interests and will engage in our active instructional mentoring program.

Requirements

Ph.D. in Mathematics or related field by August 10, 2027.
Submit a curriculum vitae.
Submit statements on research and on teaching.
Arrange for at least four (4) letters of recommendation to be submitted, one of which must specifically address the applicant's teaching experiences.
Background check is required for employment.
