The Oregon Institute of Occupational Health Sciences is an independent research institute within OHSU dedicated to workplace health and safety. The Clinical Physiology and Chronobiology Program (CPCP) within the institute specializes in clinical research on the effects of sleep and circadian rhythms on human physiology and pathophysiology. The successful candidate will serve as a postdoctoral scholar under the mentorship of Dr. Nicole Bowles, contributing to NIH-funded studies examining the interrelationships among cannabis and cannabinoid use, sleep and circadian physiology, and cardiovascular health. The role involves the full research process, from developing scientific questions to preparing manuscripts and grant applications, with opportunities for independent research development and mentorship in scientific writing, grant development, and career advancement. The position may involve human laboratory and field-based research, including sleep and circadian assessments, cardiovascular measures, and biological sample collection. Some evening, overnight, or weekend research activities may occasionally be required.
