The Gibbs and Wang Laboratories in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) are recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to conduct research in multiplexed fluorescence imaging, cyclic immunofluorescence, quantitative image analysis, and spatial biology in tissue and blood samples. The laboratories develop quantitative fluorescence imaging technologies to measure cellular phenotypes, biomarker expression, and spatial relationships in complex biological samples. Projects include high-plex cyclic immunofluorescence of tissues, quantitative analysis of circulating blood cells, and computational methods for extracting molecular and spatial information from large imaging datasets. Research spans cancer biology, biomarker discovery, disease progression, and translational molecular imaging. The laboratories are supported by NIH and foundation funding and offer a collaborative research environment encompassing molecular imaging, fluorescence microscopy, computational analysis, cancer biology, and clinical translation. The scholar will perform wet-laboratory studies and fluorescence microscopy, and develop computational approaches to analyze multiplexed imaging data. The role also contributes to research meetings, manuscripts, figures, data analysis, funding applications, scientific presentations, publications, and trainee mentorship as appropriate. The position is located at OHSU’s south waterfront campus (RLSB and KCRB). Work hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
