About The Position
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Electrochemical Engine Center (ECEC) in the field of researching the safety of lithium-ion batteries. This position is under the direction of Dr. Chao-Yang Wang. The ECEC, directed by Prof. Chao-Yang Wang, is a multi-disciplinary research program concentrating on advanced batteries and fuel cells for vehicle electrification, renewable energy storage, and power grids.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related fields by the start date
- Strong prior experience in lithium battery research
- Strong skills in electrochemistry, thermodynamics, and reaction kinetics
- Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work independently to solve critical problems
Nice To Haves
- Experience in electrochemistry, reaction kinetics, and flame composition measurements
