About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is seeking a motivated and innovative Postdoctoral Scholar to join the college of Engineering. This position is available immediately and offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of additive manufacturing research. This is a Department of Defense contract and as such there are stringent citizenship rules. This position reports to Dr. Dev Chidambaram, Nevada Regents Researcher and Professor of Materials Science and Engineering. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge projects focused on the additive manufacturing of metals and composites. In this role, you will conduct high-impact research, publish in leading journals, present findings at conferences, and collaborate with a dynamic team of faculty and students. You will also have opportunities to mentor students and contribute to proposal development, supporting the growth of a strong and externally funded research program.

Requirements

PhD in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Additive Manufacturing, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
Completion of a doctoral degree in the appropriate discipline is required.
The doctoral degree must have been completed within the five years immediately preceding the first date of appointment as a postdoctoral fellow at the University.
The individual cannot have held previous positions in the professional ranks.
Candidates with experience in additive manufacturing are required.
