The group of Professor Constantin Schrade in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at Louisiana State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in theoretical condensed matter physics. The successful candidate will work on theoretical questions involving altermagnetic materials. The group’s interests include unconventional magnetism, the microscopic theory of superconductivity, and hybrid materials, and the candidate may develop related projects in these areas. The candidate will join a young, growing group working at the intersection of quantum materials, magnetism, and superconductivity, with strong ties to experimental collaborators. The role offers opportunities to help shape research directions, develop independent ideas, co-supervise graduate students, and build an independent research profile. The group is part of LSU’s Department of Physics & Astronomy and the Hearne Institute of Theoretical Physics. The position is for two years, subject to funding availability and/or satisfactory performance, with the possibility of extension. The start date is flexible, and the position is available from November 2026.
