Postdoctoral Researcher
About The Position
Group C (Unionized) Postdoctoral Researchers are Research Fellows recognized by the Quebec government employed at McGill with a valid Doctoral degree (PhD or MD) for a maximum of 5 years after obtaining their Doctoral Degree. The incumbent is unionized if more than 25% of his salary is paid by McGill Research funds. Group C Unionized hold a dual status as both students and McGill employees, and are members of the AMURE (Postdocs) bargaining unit. Their pay, benefits, working conditions, etc. are governed by their collective agreement. Pursues research projects by planning and conducting experiments, analyzes data, participate in research group activities such as regular meetings, assists with equipment maintenance and operation, as well as training of new lab members (undergraduate and graduate students).
Requirements
- Valid Doctoral degree (PhD or MD)
- Experience working with mammalian cell culture and primary cells
- Experience with lentiviral gene transfer and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing
- Ability to independently plan and conduct experiments
- Ability to independently analyze results
- Advanced computational image analysis skills
- Authorized to work in Canada
- Willing to work in the province of Quebec
- English communication both verbally and in writing
