Boston College’s Engineering Department is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to lead projects in drug delivery and plant-based scaffolds for tissue engineering. The lab develops stimuli-responsive drug carriers for cancer and tissue engineering applications and engineers the degradation of plant-based scaffolds for hard tissue engineering. Its research uses drug delivery, plant decellularization, tissue engineering, ultrasound and micro-CT imaging, and AI/machine learning approaches. The Fellow will lead project design, coordination, and experimental execution, and provide leadership in project direction. The role includes opportunities to collaborate with and mentor graduate and undergraduate researchers, as well as career development support for conference travel and grant writing and mentorship from multidisciplinary faculty. This is an onsite, full-time, temporary appointment for one year, renewable for additional years depending on performance and funding availability. The position is 35 hours per week, with a salary range of $67,000–$76,962 based on experience. Boston College hopes to fill the role as soon as possible but is flexible on the specific start date. Applicants should submit a cover letter outlining research interests and fit, a CV, and names and contact information for three referees; referees will be contacted only for shortlisted candidates.
