About The Position

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position for Dr. Goetz's lab. This is an NIH-funded postdoctoral fellow position. We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow with a background and/or interest in maternal-fetal medicine, extracellular vesicles, neurodevelopment and fetal brain injury to join the UTHealth Houston Division of General Obstetrics & Gynecology in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting experiments with human specimens and conducting multiple techniques including tissue processing, PCR/RT-qPCR, Western blotting, and/or ELISAs. Position Summary: A biomedical postdoc position provides an opportunity for early-career researchers to gain valuable experience, develop independent research skills, and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge in their field of expertise.

Requirements

  • Doctoral/Terminal Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Neuroscience, Immunology, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or related discipline) preferred.
  • Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and conducts experiments, analyzes data, and prepares publications describing results.
  • Assists in training and mentoring of lab personnel, including graduate students and other trainees.
  • Reads and evaluates literature.
  • Possess interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels.
  • Have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
