About The Position

The Department of Dermatology at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine is seeking a federal-funded postdoctoral research associate. This role will focus on studying Cancer Biology and Stem Cell Biology in the laboratory of Dr. Lu Le, Professor and Chair of the Department of Dermatology. The lab investigates how genetic and microenvironmental factors interplay to regulate tumorigenesis, focusing on the identification of the cell of origin and elucidating the role of the tumor microenvironment in cancer development. Research dissects the cellular and molecular mechanisms of carcinogenesis from a developmental perspective using Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1) as a model. The lab also investigates hair graying and balding. The laboratory offers a rich experimental environment encompassing both basic and translational research.
