About The Position

Carnegie Mellon University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to help develop a new generation of multiscale computational models. These models will connect microstructural tissue mechanics, microvascular flow and transport, and tissue function across in vivo human tissue and in vitro engineered tissue systems. The associate will work with a highly collaborative computational modeling team, in a closely integrated effort spanning CMU and other universities. The role offers an opportunity to establish an independent research trajectory at the intersection of computational science, biomechanics, imaging, and cardiovascular medicine, while contributing to an international effort to improve understanding of coronary microvascular disease. The work involves collaborating with experimental, computational, and clinical investigators and developing computational methods with biological and translational impact. This is a full-time, fixed-term postdoctoral associate/fellow position based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Carnegie Mellon describes a broad benefits package for eligible employees, including insurance, retirement savings, tuition benefits, paid time off, and other perks.
