Carnegie Mellon University's Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department, renowned for its interdisciplinary approach to solving complex healthcare challenges, is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate. This role, supported by an NIH R01 grant, will focus on the development of bioengineered replacement corneal tissue within the Regenerative Biomaterials and Therapeutics Group. The position involves independent and/or directed research using advanced biomaterials, cell engineering, and 3D bioprinting for corneal repair and regeneration. Key research areas include the shrink-wrapping and delivery of corneal endothelial cells using engineered extracellular matrix (ECM) protein scaffolds, and FRESH 3D bioprinting of collagen-based scaffolds for corneal stromal repair.
