The Research Foundation of The City University of New York (RFCUNY) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Ph.D. Program in Mathematics at the CUNY Graduate Center. This role involves independent research in mathematics where large-scale computation, simulation, or data-driven methods are essential. The associate will utilize Empire AI's computational power, design efficient algorithms for GPU clusters, manage distributed computation and storage, and develop analysis pipelines. The position encourages proposals that advance computational practices, such as large simulations, extensive searches, or the use of generative models guided by mathematical structures. The associate will benefit from the intellectual environment at the CUNY Graduate Center, including Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, and the Initiative for Theoretical Sciences, and is expected to engage with the broader mathematics community for research and professional development. The role requires preparing publications and conference talks. The start date is flexible, ideally around September 1, 2026.
