About The Position

The Boon lab at WashU in St Louis is looking for an enthusiastic Post-doctoral fellow to support our team studying cellular immune responses to influenza virus and SARS-CoV-2 in mouse and hamster models. The projects in the lab include assessing the role of T and B cell immunity on virus infection and transmission, evaluating innovative virus vaccines, as well as developing assays and reagents for hamster immunology, and identifying T cell epitopes in different viruses and species. The lab is housed in the Department of Medicine at WashU Medicine in Saint Louis, MO. The lab is housed on a floor with several other laboratories that study virus-host interactions. We have ongoing collaborations with labs in many other departments in the University including Molecular Microbiology and Pathology and Immunology.

Requirements

Ph.D., M.D. Or Equivalent Terminal Or Doctoral Degree.

Nice To Haves

PhD in immunology, molecular biology, or microbiology, or a similar field.
Have published one or more papers in peer-reviewed journals.
Can guide research projects.
Have a background in or desire to learn bioinformatics analysis techniques.
Good interpersonal skills and willingness to mentor students and technicians.
Excellent speaking, reading and writing skills are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists with grant preparation and reporting.
Prepares and submits papers on research.
