Carnegie Mellon University's AI and Work initiative seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to advance research at the intersection of AI, operations research, and decision-making, with applications to workforce policy and reskilling. This project utilizes optimization-based models to predict future skill demands driven by AI technologies. The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to theoretical development, empirical testing, and model evaluation, using simulation and observational data analysis. The role involves collaboration with industry partners and working with public and private datasets, such as ONET and Lightcast. A background in computer science and data pipeline development, along with fluency in modern AI tools, is advantageous. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with leading scholars in AI/ML, Data Science, Operations Research, and Information Systems, under the leadership of directors from the NIST-funded AI Measurement Science and Engineering Center and the NSF-funded AI Institute for Societal Decision Making.
