Postdoctoral Research Associate- Training Program in Pediatric Immuno-Oncology and Immunotherapy
About The Position
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative candidate for a fully supported postdoctoral fellowship to develop immune-based therapies. Specifically, the research is aimed to develop cell-based immunotherapies for pediatric tumors. Studies are focused on using genetic engineering approaches to not only render immune cells cancer specific, but also improve their effector function. Genetically modified immune cells will be studied in preclinical models with special emphasis on how adoptively transferred cells interact with tumor cells, the tumor microenvironment, and resident immune cells.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, genomics, immunology, or a related area.
- Strong immunology and cell biology background, with an emphasis on cellular immunology.
- Proficiency in genetic manipulation of mammalian cells.
- Experience in generating and evaluating human or murine immune cells.
- Experience with gene editing.
- Experience with single cell transcriptomics.
- Experience with flow cytometry.
- Experience with murine solid tumor models.
- Strong publication record.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Prospective postdocs or in the early stages of postdoctoral training (within 1–2 years of PhD conferral).
- Hold a PhD, MD, DO, PharmD, DVM, or equivalent degree in a relevant field at the time of appointment.
- U.S. Citizens, U.S. Noncitizen Nationals, or Permanent Residents at the time of appointment.
- Demonstrated commitment to research.
Responsibilities

- Utilize genetic engineering approaches to enhance immune cell specificity and effector function.
- Study genetically modified immune cells in preclinical models.
- Analyze the interaction of adoptively transferred cells with tumor cells, the tumor microenvironment, and resident immune cells.
