About The Position

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate specializing in AI for Cybersecurity. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop and expand technical skills while contributing to Agentic AI in Cybersecurity. Research projects will focus on Machine Learning and Computer Vision. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in AI or Cybersecurity and have experience publishing in high-impact journals. Collaboration with a broad network of scientists and engineers from other universities is also a key aspect of this position.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Experience in programming Python or Equivalent.
• Experience in publishing IEEE or ACM transactions or journals.
• Ability to mentor junior team members, and ensure the highest levels of laboratory safety.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and short turnaround times.
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a postdoc at VCU.
