About The Position

The University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a postdoctoral research position in experimental neutrino physics. The group's activities include fundamental studies of neutrino properties including on the Project 8 and CUORE/CUPID experiments. This position will be responsible to make significant contributions to the R&D of Project 8 and CUPID and to the data analysis of CUORE and Project 8. There will also be opportunities to take on leadership roles in these collaborations. In addition, you will be expected to participate in grant writing, writing manuscripts for publication, presenting at conferences, ensuring compliance with safety, and assist with mentoring graduate and undergraduate students. The position is funded initially for two years and housed within the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Pittsburgh working with Dr. Pranava Teja Surukuchi and collaborators. The position may be extended pending funding and performance.

Requirements

• A PhD in experimental particle or nuclear physics or equivalent.
• Experience in instrumentation and detector R&D.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in software development and data analysis will be highly favorable.
• National and international travel for detector development, installation, and monitoring in addition to collaboration meetings and conferences is anticipated.
