About The Position

This position involves designing and conducting laboratory experiments investigating renal tubular transporters and receptor signaling pathways. The role requires performing various molecular and cellular biology techniques, analyzing experimental data, preparing manuscripts for publication, assisting with grant proposals, and training junior researchers. The fellow will also be involved in animal experimentation, including breeding, handling, and surgeries, as well as radiotelemetric blood pressure monitoring and confocal microscopy.

Requirements

  • PhD or MD in Biological Sciences, Physiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in molecular biology and biochemical laboratory techniques.
  • Proficiency in mammalian cell culture.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience writing scientific manuscripts.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary research team.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and statistical analysis software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing, annotating, imputing, and analyzing large-scale genomics datasets.
  • Familiarity with genomic analysis software and bioinformatics tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct laboratory experiments investigating renal tubular transporters and receptor signaling pathways.
  • Perform molecular and cellular biology techniques, including: Cell culture, Real-time PCR, Western blotting, Immunoprecipitation.
  • Analyze experimental data using statistical software and prepare figures and presentations.
  • Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Assist with preparation of grant proposals and other research documents.
  • Train and mentor research technicians and students in laboratory techniques.
  • Maintain accurate research records and ensure proper data backup.
  • Follow all laboratory safety procedures and institutional research policies.
  • Perform additional research-related duties as assigned.
  • Breeding, handling and experimentation on transgenic animals.
  • Radiotelemetric blood pressure monitoring.
  • Rodent surgeries.
  • Confocal microscopy.
