About The Position

The University of Colorado Anschutz Department of Psychiatry is forming a new group focused on combining neuroimaging and brain stimulation, spanning basic and cognitive neuroscience through clinical trials using MRI to guide personalized brain stimulation interventions. The fellow will gain experience in clinically relevant applications of brain stimulation, including fMRI-guided transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), concurrent TMS/fMRI, and treatments for depression and PTSD. Prior brain-stimulation experience is not required, but strong proficiency in fMRI acquisition, processing, and analysis, supported by a relevant publication record, is required. The position is onsite in Aurora, Colorado. Some initial training in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania may be necessary. The department has strong clinical connections, particularly in interventional psychiatry, and institutional support for its neuromodulation mission. Work includes fMRI analysis, manuscript and funding application development, learning neuronavigated TMS and TMS/fMRI, coordinating and training research team members, equipment maintenance, and presenting results at scientific meetings as appropriate.
